Carlos Diaz, CEO, BioMar
Diaz has been CEO at BioMar Group since 2014, responsible for business and operations worldwide. In addition, Diaz holds the role of vice president for Continental Europe and Americas Business Development at BioMar AS. Diaz has worked in the BioMar Group since 2003. Prior to that, he worked with Pfizer Animal Health. Diaz holds degrees from the University of Concepcion in Chile, and advanced degrees from IMD Business School, INSEAD, the Universidad Adolfo Ibanez and ESEM Madrid.
Ricardo García, CEO of Compañía Pesquera Camanchaca and Chairman of Salmones Camanchaca
Mr. García is an Economist from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Mr. García is a past Co-Chairman of the Global Salmon Initiative, and former President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Chile. Before joining Camanchaca, Mr. García served as President & CEO of the Latin America and the Caribbean Division of American Life Insurance Company (ALICO/AIG). He has been a teacher in areas of economics and finance at various Chilean universities.
Regin Jacobsen, CEO, Bakkafrost
Mr. Jacobsen (born 1966) has been the CEO of Bakkafrost since 1989. Mr. Jacobsen is educated at Aarhus School of Business, Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Accounting (HD-R). From 1982 to 1988, Mr. Jacobsen was Accounting Manager of the former P/f Bakkafrost, and from 1988 until 2006, he held the position as Managing Director of the former P/f Bakkafrost.
Peter Buck, CFO, Cooke Inc.
Peter has spent the past 15 years with Cooke Inc., a privately held global seafood business as its Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance. During this time Peter has overseen the financial growth of the company from a small regional player with sales of $40 million to a multinational business with operations on 4 continents, 10 countries, and with sales of $2.5 billion. He has prior experience in the transportation industry and worked for ten years in the audit practice of Grant Thornton LLP.
​ Currently, Peter is responsible for the financial management, financing, and information technology of this rapidly growing company and is part of the leadership team responsible for the strategic growth of the business, both organically and through acquisitions.​
Peter has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and holds a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant Designation from the chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.​
Peter enjoys travelling with his wife, Dawn-Marie and their three children when not travelling as part of his work. In addition, Peter enjoys playing hockey in the winter and golf and fly-fishing in the summer. In the fall he and Dawn - Marie can be found following their boys around during the college soccer season.​
Dr. Enrico Bachis, Market Research Director, IFFO
Enrico joined the organization in 2009 as Business Manager and Information and was then promoted to Market Research Director in 2017. He is responsible for the market intelligence produced by IFFO also representing the industry within the working group on agri-commodities of OECD-FAO. Enrico graduated from Cagliari University in Sardinia with a Political Science degree before obtaining an MSc in Financial Economics and a PhD in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham (UK)
Simon Nyquist Martinsen, Chief Financial Officer, AKVA Group ASA
Simon Nyquist Martinsen (b. 1969), assumed the position as CFO in February 2017. Prior to joining AKVA group, he was CFO of Constructor Group, a pan-European provider of storage solutions. He has extensive experience both as a financial as well as an operational executive. He has also served as acting CEO of Constructor Group, and has held several positions within the Aker group, including Norway Seafoods ASA. He spent the first years of his career with KPMG. Simon holds a Master in Accounting and Auditing from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), and is qualified as a State Authorized Public Accountant in Norway. He is a Norwegian citizen and resides in Bærum, Norway.
Francisco Lepeley, Chief Financial Officer, AquaChile
Mr. Lepeley joined AquaChile Group as CFO in May 2016. Prior to joining AquaChile, Francisco held several Finance management roles during his nine years with the copper mining group Antofagasta plc. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lepeley was portfolio manager with AIG and MetLife, and also held an associate position at the New York office of the management consulting firm A.T. Kearney, where he specialized in corporate restructuring, merger integration and strategic sourcing. Francisco holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
Jose Prado, CFO, Atlantic Sapphire
Prado is Chief Financial Officer of Atlantic Sapphire, the global leader in land-based farmed salmon, with operations in Denmark and the United States. Prior to Atlantic Sapphire, Prado served as president of Transformation Capital Services for 15 years, and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Ronald L. Stotish, CEO, AquaBounty Technologies
Mr. Stotish, Ph.D. is CEO, President and Executive Director of AquaBounty Technologies. Ron joined AquaBounty in 2006 as Vice President for Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining AquaBounty, Ron was Executive Vice President for R&D at MetaMorphix, Inc. He previously served as Vice President for Global Pharmaceutical Research and Development at Fort Dodge Animal Health, and held a variety of positions at American Cyanamid.

Mr. Stotish began his career in basic research at Merck. Ron has degrees in Biochemistry and over forty years’ experience in the discovery, development, and commercialization of new animal health products. Ron is a member of the Board of Directors of BIO, the Biotechnology Industry Organization, and serves on the Food and Agriculture Section Governing Board of BIO. He is a member of the World Aquaculture Society, Global Aquaculture Alliance, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the National Institute for Animal Agriculture.
Lynsey Wenger, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer, Calysta
Lynsey Wenger joined Calysta in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer. She is responsible for the company’s financial strategy, planning and management, and for expansion and implementation of Calysta’s long term sustainability strategy and programs. Ms. Wenger joined Calysta following a 16-year career with The Goldman Sachs Group, where she spent the greater part of the last decade specializing in global natural resources investment banking.
During Ms. Wenger’s career at Goldman Sachs, she managed and led investment banking activities in global natural resources ranging from international mergers and acquisitions to significant capital markets transactions, including IPOs and broader equity and debt placements. Her industry experience includes natural gas and electric utilities, power, renewables and alternative energy. Most recently, Ms. Wenger served as a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division, with responsibility for transactions in the corporate power and utility sectors. Previously, she served in the Americas Financing Group as Head of Investment Grade Power, Utility and Midstream Debt Capital Markets. Earlier in her career she held positions in Equity Derivative Sales in the United States and Australia.
Ms. Wenger holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University.
Kjetil Haga, Broodstock Capital
Co-founder and Partner of Broodstock Capital.
Kjetil Haga has a demonstrated track record of screening, acquiring and successfully developing multiple ventures across industries and regions. He has co-founded several new ventures within shipping, finance and fish farming, and held roles as CFO and CEO in venture backed companies. Mr. Haga’s deep expertise as a management consultancy partner advising company CEOs and BoD makes him a valued board member in a number of Norwegian companies.
Mr. Haga holds a MSc. In Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and an MBA in Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and MIT Sloan School of Management.
Peter Bergstrom, International Business Manager, ADM Animal Nutrition
Peter Bergstrom has headed up Archer Daniels Midland's (ADM) Animal Nutrition group since 2012, during which time he developed a road map for the launch of a new microalgae-based omega-3 product for launch on the global animal nutrition market. Bergstrom previously held roles at Phibro Animal Health Corp, Gallard-Schlesinger Industries (a subsidiary of CF Budenheim), and Orion Group. Bergstrom holds a Master of Science in Economics and an Executive MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration.
Dawid Heyl, Analyst, Investec
Dawid specialises in global agriculture and food related investments, with a focus on both commodities and listed equity markets. Joining Investec Asset Management in 2007 as part of the Natural Resources team, he has been investing in the broader protein space for over 10 years and the seafood sector for 5 years. Prior to that Dawid worked for KBC Financial Products as a trade accountant in credit derivative markets. Before that he qualified as a chartered accountant, managing audits including agriculture, protein and industrial food companies, at Baker Tilly Greenwoods in Cape Town. He also qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2006.
Malcolm DF Pye, CEO, Benchmark Holdings plc
Mr. Pye is the CEO of Benchmark Holdings. He leads the development of group strategy in relation to growth, research, marketing and the deployment of resources. Malcolm is a graduate of Zoology/Applied Zoology from the University of Wales (Bangor). He has over 30 years of experience in international agribusiness, including at board level within the Hillsdown Holding/HMTF animal breeding, feed milling, veterinary and poultry companies. During his time at Hillsdown, Mr. Pye also worked extensively on M&A projects, leading and advising on acquisitions, disposals and integration strategies.
Kristoffer Jordheim, Partner, Pareto Securities, Corporate Finance - Seafood
Mr. Jordheim is part of the seafood team in Pareto Securities’ Corporate Finance division. He spends all his time working on financials transactions in the seafood industry, both domestically and internationally. He has extensive experience from various type of M&A, equity capital markets and debt capital markets transactions. In total, he has twelve years experience in investment banking. Prior to joining Pareto Securities in 2014, he spent seven years in SEB and two years in DNB. Kristoffer started his carrier as an equity analyst. He holds an MSc degree in finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). In addition, he spent two years in the Norwegian Navy, including an officer’s degree from the Royal Norwegian Navy Officer Candidate School.
Carl-Emil Kjølås Johannessen, Seafood Analyst, Pareto Securities Equity Research
Mr. Johannessen holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration with specialization in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (siv.øk. NHH). Johannessen has been working with Pareto as a Seafood Analyst for 3 years covering most of the listed seafood companies. Johannessen has ppreviously been involved in the salmon farming business both through a part time job in Grieg Seafood and through the family business (Fossen AS) later sold to Lerøy Seafood Group.
Pål Korneliussen, Publisher, IntraFish Media
Pål Korneliussen, Publisher of IntraFish Media, has led the company for over 10 years. Before venturing into media Mr. Korneliussen worked in seafood (Lerøy Seafood, Kolnor Trading) and as a Management Consultant in the fish farming industry. Korneliussen holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration.

Drew Cherry is the Editorial Director of IntraFish Media, the world's largest seafood news and information provider. Cherry was born and raised in Alaska, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis, and a Master’s in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California.
