Mr. Ian D. Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of Clearwater Seafoods. Smith joined Clearwater in May 2010 bringing to this role over 26 years of global experience in the food and consumer products industry. Prior to joining Clearwater, Smith held senior leadership positions at Campbell Soup Company in the United States, China and Canada including Vice-President and General Manager of Campbell Soup Company Greater China and Vice-President of Business Development for North America. Prior to Campbell, Smith held positions in marketing, sales and international business development with Allergan, Colgate-Palmolive and the Gillette Company.

Smith is a Board Member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executive Officers, a member of the Advisory Council for Canada’s Global Markets Action Plan for the Ministry of International Trade, a Board Member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada’s Corporate Oversight and Governance Advisory Board, a member of the Board of Governors of Food & Consumer Products of Canada and a Board Member of The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council. Smith is a three time recipient of Atlantic Business Magazine recognition as a Top 50 CEO in Atlantic Canada.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of McGill University (BA Economics, MBA) and a former Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve.

Harry Hoogendoorn, Managing Director, Queens Products BV

Harry Hoogendoorn is Managing Director of Queens Products B.V., a Dutch supplier of frozen seafood for the retail channel. He began his career as Product Manager at the Dutch Ice Cream producer Hertog. In 1994, Mr. Hoogendoorn joined the private equity firm “Koen Visser Groep” and started Queens Products B.V.

Queens Products B.V. was the first company introducing pangasius on the Dutch retail market. Queens was the first company in the world introducing ASC certified pangasius and tilapia in 2012. Today, Queens Pangasius fillet is the number 1 frozen seafood product in the Dutch market. Queens is the number 1 brand for frozen fish fillets. Queens Products B.V. believes that by acting in a responsible and sustainable way, consumers, suppliers, and the company will benefit. Queens Products B.V. is a leader in certified seafood.

Peter Hajipieris, Director for Corporate Social Responsibility, Iglo Foods Group Ltd.

Over a 28 year career, Peter has worked across the full category spectrum of the food industry and has a deep understanding of the seafood industry. He has held senior roles in the governmental agency standards setting sector, retail and commercial operations and in corporate responsibility and sustainability with some of the food industry’s best known organisations and brands including McDonald’s, Seafish UK, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd, Tesco Stores Ltd and currently at Iglo Foods Group.

Peter is known for being a global champion of sustainable food development having initiated or led many food and quality programmes and seafood sustainable development third party platforms and verification schemes which have helped to improve seafood supply chain quality and responsible sourcing.

Peter leads Iglo’s CSR strategy and is the architect behind Forever Food Together 2020 which started as a sustainability programme in 2010 and has now evolved to include community plan activity across Europe to help maximise food resources utilisation in the supply chain and educate consumers to help reduce food waste. The Forever Food Together programme has been instrumental in driving towards a 100% ‘responsibly sourced and prepared’ status for Iglo Group’s fish range and a commitment has been made that by 2020 "100% of all Iglo Group innovation will result in healthier meal choices to help consumers towards a balanced diet."
Iglo Group is the largest food brand user of the MSC standard by country market presence and product range Eco labelling. Peter has worked as advisor to UN’s FAO, OECD, EU Commission and European Governments and sat on numerous global expert panels worldwide and currently sits on the boards of the UK Seafish Authority as a UK processing industry sector representative, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council and the Global Seafood Sustainability Initiative.

Henrik Vikjaer Andersen, Director Japan & South Korea, Norwegian Seafood Council

Wide international experience in general management, marketing & PR, strategy formation and implementation from positions in both private and public sector organisations in Europe (mainly Scandinavia), the Middle East, Asia and Australia. Industry experience derived mainly from positions in international sales and marketing of FMCG particularly pioneering new markets and/or industries. As a management consultant I have helped private and public sector organisations around the world to better achieve their strategic goals. Worldclass experience from Balanced Scorecard, strategy formation, and change management projects at executive board level across various industries in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, the Caribbean, and Africa.
